Yosemite National Park
Over the Summer of 2018 my family took a road trip along the West coast of the United States. We are from McAlester, Oklahoma, which is about two hours East of Norman. It was a crazy long drive, but we had a lot of fun!
My favorite stop during the trip was at Yosemite National Park. While we were there a bad wildfire had closed part of the Park. Still, we had the opportunity to see a number of spectacular waterfalls, wildlife, and wild people. Some of the most beautiful views in the United States can be found in the mountains of Yosemite. I can attest to it, as I have been to 47 of the 50 states by car!
Below I have attached a photo of one of the coolest waterfalls in Yosemite. We had the opportunity to hike right up underneath the base of the falls. The mist from the falls was quite refreshing on the smoky, warm day.

I would recommend a trip to Yosemite to everyone. In fact, California as a whole is worth the visit. Try to find a time when the fires are not bad, and I guarantee it will impress you!
Wow, 47 of 50 states: that is some serious traveling, Brady: I am jealous! And Yosemite is AMAZING. Maybe you will want to do a project about Yosemite for class; as you can imagine, there are all kinds of stories that people have told about that place! Here's one book online: The Lore and the Lure of the Yosemite: The Indians — Their Customs, Legends and Beliefs, and the Story of Yosemite by Herbert Earl Wilson... it's free to read online / Freebookapalooza!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the link, I will definitely take a look. Hopefully before too long I can visit the three remaining states: Iowa, Minnesota, and Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteHey, Brady!
ReplyDeleteYou've been to 47 out of 50 states by car? That's crazy! You are the undisputed king of road trips as far as I'm concerned. And how cool that you guys made a stop in Yosemite! A number of my friends are very into hiking and mountaineering, and Yosemite has always been high up on their bucket list. Maybe I'll tag along with them after reading your review!
Spencer,
DeleteThanks for the comment. I would definitely recommend tagging along. While you are there, you ought to make a trip over to Monterrey, Ca and Huntington Beach on the south side of LA. If you are a golf fan you would enjoy the south side of Monterrey because the beach curls right under the golf course at Pebble Beach. It is a beautiful sight.
Brady
Hey Brady! My wife and I hiked to the top of THAT waterfall!!!! It is the tallest in like all of north America If I remember right. That was one of the coolest things I have ever seen and seeing it up close from the top was incredible. Somewhere I have a photo of me standing right on the edge of that water fall. Of course you can't see it in the photo but my wife was very nervous I was too close to the edge!
